Badlands is a sort of gay San Francisco institution - a slick video dance club filled with twinks and hotties gettin' down to the latest pop music. This gay mecca is right off Castro and is filled with locals all looking for a little fun (or Someone for a little fun)!
The hot crowd sometimes overshadows the hot and friendly staff - but the bartenders here are known for being some of the sweetest - (and sexiest) in the city. And, drink up because they've got plenty of cocktail specials - and a great happy hour with 2-4-1 drinks served from 2 to 7pm Monday through Friday.
The night club's new look opens up the dance floor and the cosmic feel is a bit like George Jetson meets Diana Ross. The service is fantastic and the free flow attitude lends itself to a diverse mix of clientele. The weekends get a little crowded, but that just proves that this San Francisco boy bar is a must visit night club.
The easy going swarms of gay guys are all about glee and gluttony - they take dancing seriously. You won't want for a Madonna video, and while it is a bit on the kitschy side? it is precisely this predictability that makes SF Badlands worth visiting.
Visiting SF Badlands is almost a right of passage for the gay community. No matter if you plan on grinding the night away pressed up to a hot San Francisco male specimen - or just plan on staying for a few drinks, you're sure to have a great time. This San Francisco hotspot is clearly evolving from a leather clad high spirited night club to a more approachable video dance arena that is chocked full of cool video screens. No longer rough around the edges, Badlands is a gratifying gay bar filled with pleasure, passion, and partying.

Always a good time
Badlands is one of the cooler clubs in San Fran. It is a pretty cool dance club - but still has that neighborhood feel. Lots of hot boys grinding on the dance floor - come on Saturday night - I might be one of them - hehe. By: Nick on February 16, 2008
